Lee University Chapel, Cleveland TN
Nic Brown and Emily Lee chose the perfect wedding spot-- Lee University's wedding chapel. They said "I do" on July 6th. When people think about stressful days, its hard not to immediately think back on your wedding day. Anything from a missing centerpiece, a power cord that won't work, or a delivery truck running behind can throw a wedding completely out of sorts. But when I arrived at Emily and Nic's big day, the two seemed to have created a space that was for only celebration.
When I entered the bridal suite, the girls were laughing, making jokes, and enjoying the final few hours. Emily already looked gorgeous, her hair in a beautiful up-do while Lexi, an incredible local make-up artist, finished up her make-up. The rest of the girls were completing their final touches, all matching in adorable pink robes. Unlike many brides, Emily seemed to be so content-- enjoying spending time with her girls, looking forward to meeting her groom.
Emily and Nic's story is one out of a book. The two were students at Lee University, but did not meet until later in their college careers. As young people, we go on trips and adventures, always a little optimistic that we might encounter a movie-like moment where we meet someone and fall in love. Usually this is not the case, but it was for Emily and Nic. For those unfamiliar with Lee, the university requires students to have at least one cross-cultural experience. Emily and Nic both signed up to go to Israel. While on the trip, the two began to spend more time together, and slowly realized how much they enjoyed each other's company. When they returned to the States, they continued their relationship, and the rest is history. Seeing the two of them together, it is clear that they belong together. Both are incredibly focused, driven, and really a true power couple.
I think maybe my favorite part of their wedding, though, was the fact that it was the day before my hubby and my anniversary. Weddings tend to make one reflect on their own big day, but I would be lying if I said Emily and Nic's clear devotion to each other, apparent from the first look to the final send-off, didn't make me think of how lucky I am to know my husband. I will always love this wedding for the memories the two have created as well as the ones I had a little time to remember.
I am so excited to watch these two grow together and of course wish them all the happiness in the world.
