The past few months have been an absolute whirlwind to say the absolute least. Between Brian working on his doctorate, teaching a new class, starting a new side hustle, and moving into our new home, it has not left much time for decorating. But now that we are finally on Christmas break, Brian and I have had some time to finally check off some of the items that have been on our to-do list for the last few months, including finally hanging curtains in the bedroom!
I thought since I've had quite a few Alabama family members ask for pictures of our new home, I would post some on the blog!
The pictures above our bed are floral book pages I found in an antique store in Blue Ridge, GA. The frames were from our living room in our last house. I simply painted the frames with white chalk paint!
One of my favorite things about our bedroom is how much of it holds incredible memories from the homes of our family. Our vanity was actually my great-grandmother's! My mom and I found it in her old house. It was black and the top was nearly ruined from water and age. My dad stripped it for us and we repainted it. The dresser was my father-in-law's when he was a child. We painted it a teal blue first then white. We used a light grade sandpaper to give it a rustic look. The window is actually from my parents house. I had a large print done online and hot-glued our picture on the back. We actually made the window for our sign-in table at our wedding!
The beautiful map was a birthday gift from my sweet friend Caitlin.
